The month-long National Tree Fair sold 16,91,423 saplings this year, with a total sale value of Tk 14,79,09,474. The fair ran from 25 June to 27 July this year.

During the fair, saplings were bought and sold in a lively atmosphere in the capital every day from 9am to 8pm. A total of 112 stalls took part: 8 government stalls, 8 private stalls, 92 single nursery stalls and 18 double stalls.

Dipankar Bor, public relations officer of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, gave these figures at the closing ceremony of the National Tree Fair 2025 on Sunday, 27 July.

He said ornamental plant saplings were the top sellers at this year's fair, with a total of 4,54,574 sold.

In addition, 3,37,640 fruit tree saplings were sold, along with 2,48,274 timber, 1,14,515 medicinal, 1,00,449 spice, 1,02,089 cactus and 74,541 orchid saplings.

Alongside these, 37,321 saplings of endangered or rare native species and 2,22,020 saplings of other species were sold, Dipankar Bor said.
