Fog arrives early on autumn mornings across Bangladesh's north

It is still sharat, yet fog is settling over many parts of the country at dawn, most of all in the north; a Prothom Alo picture story from Panchagarh, Rangpur, Pabna, Naogaon and Sajek.

It is still sharat, the early-autumn season, but fog is already settling over parts of Bangladesh at dawn. In places a thick blanket hides everything, and the scene is most common in the northern districts. Prothom Alo has published a picture story of fog from across the country over the past few days.

In Shingpara, Panchagarh, a van driver hurries through the fog to wherever he is going, and in Dudumari a paddy field lies under a white blanket; both pictures are by Raziur Rahman.

At Battorbil in Rangpur, a man walks home through the misty dawn with fish caught on lines set the night before, and in Shukanchoki a day labourer heads to work on a foggy morning; Moinul Islam took the pictures.

At Maligachha in Pabna, lotus flowers take on a different look in the misty dawn, and at Mohadipur in Badalgachhi, Naogaon, the northern fog lies over the land; both are by Hasan Mahmud. In Sajek, Rangamati, autumn morning cloud touches the green top of Machalong hill, photographed by Supriyo Chakma.
