The railway authorities decided to run trains to carry sacrificial animals to Dhaka cheaply for Eid-ul-Azha. But a day after its launch from Chapainawabganj, the service stopped for lack of animals. No sacrificial animals went in any wagon of the Mango Special train today.

Chapainawabganj station master Md Obaidullah confirmed this to Jago News at 7pm on Sunday, 25 June.

"On Saturday, 40 cattle and six goats were carried in two wagons of the Mango Special," he said. "But the service stopped today. No farmer hired our train's wagons, so the Mango Special left for Dhaka carrying only mangoes."

Station master Obaidullah said the service will continue until 26 June, and if any farmer wants to take animals to Dhaka by train, they will arrange it.

Unlike in other years, no special cattle train has been launched. On Saturday, two wagons of the Mango Special left Chapainawabganj for Dhaka with 40 cattle and six goats.
