With its black-and-white markings and heavy build, Salahuddin's bull has caused a stir. He wants to sell the handsome 16-maund animal for Tk 4 lakh, and people are crowding to his home to see it.

Md Salah Uddin lives in Jaliapara village of Guimara upazila in the Khagrachhari hills. He has raised the bull with great care for three years.

He said the bull has not been sold because he has not got the price he wants. He claims it is the biggest bull in Khagrachhari this Eid.

He said no tablets or anything else were given to fatten it in the hope of a higher price; it was raised on local feed. He asked Tk 5 lakh 30 thousand for the bull, but the highest offer has been Tk 3 lakh.

Local schoolteacher Mohammad Yusuf, who came to see the bull, said Salah Uddin sells a large animal every Qurbani Eid, but this one is much bigger. He said Md Salah Uddin had raised the bull like his own child.
