Paddy seedlings have been distributed to flood-affected farmers and fish to fish farmers in Raipur, Lakshmipur. More than a hundred affected families also received fertiliser, food, chickens, bean seedlings and seeds of various vegetables.

The support was handed to the affected people on the evening of Thursday, 3 October, at the Barnamala Academy grounds in front of the Raipur Fish Breeding and Training Centre.

The event was organised under the banner of the Agriculturists Association of Bangladesh (AB).

It was chaired by Dr Md Jahangir. AB central president Rashedul Hasan Harun was chief guest, and central BNP research affairs secretary Shamimur Rahman Shamim was the main speaker.

The event was moderated by agriculturist Dr Mohammad Ashraful Alam Jimi. Speakers included district DAE deputy director Sohel Md Shamsuddin Firoz, district livestock officer Kumud Ranjan Mitra, Raipur upazila BNP president Monir Hossain Howlader, Raipur municipal BNP president ABM Jilani and general secretary Jahid Hossain Miyaji, agriculturists Dr Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, Nurunnabi Bhuiyan Shyamal and Sheikh Muhammad Shafi Shaon, and Abdur Rakib, Lutfar Rahman Mridul, Faisal Ahmed, KM Sanowar Alam and Ruhul Amin.
