Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Sunday, 10 July. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has opened a control room to handle the removal of waste after the Qurbani sacrifices.

The control room has been set up in the Shitalakshya Hall of Nagar Bhaban. Heads of the corporation's departments, along with officers and staff from every department, will work there in shifts.

The authorities have asked residents of the DSCC area to report any information on post-Qurbani waste removal to the control room on 01709900888 and 02223386014. The corporation said action will be taken quickly on any complaint from citizens about the removal of sacrificial animal waste.

Through the control room, officials will coordinate with the officers and staff removing waste from the leased Qurbani cattle markets, record the amount of waste collected and removed from each market, and check those figures against data from the Matuail landfill. They will also stay in contact with officers assigned to each ward after Qurbani to provide help on the ground, and coordinate and support the removal, transport and overall management of waste.

To monitor ward-level waste removal on the ground with photographs, 10 teams of DSCC officers and staff have already been formed for the corporation's 10 zones. From 2pm on Eid day until 12 July, these teams will oversee waste removal in 75 wards, with photographic records.
