How long can boiled eggs be kept before eating?

Boiled eggs keep for about a week in the fridge but should be eaten within a couple of hours if left unrefrigerated.

Boiled eggs go well with almost anything, and many people like to take them to the office for lunch. But is it all right to eat at midday an egg boiled in the morning? And how long does a boiled egg stay good?

Stored properly, a boiled egg keeps for about a week in the fridge, after which it starts to spoil. If you do not refrigerate it, you should eat it within about two hours of boiling, because eggs go off very quickly. That is why experts repeatedly advise eating fresh eggs.

To keep boiled eggs good, temperature is the first thing to watch: eggs must be stored below 4.4 degrees Celsius. Kept at this temperature in the fridge with their shells on, they will stay good for about a week. Never put peeled boiled eggs in the fridge.
