In joy and sorrow, in danger, or to seek forgiveness for mistakes made unknowingly, a believer turns to God in supplication. Banglavision's religion page highlights one remembrance that hadith describe as the words most beloved to God.

The words are: Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanallahil Azim, meaning 'Glory be to God and all praise is His; glory be to God, the Most Great.' Saying 'Subhanallah' declares God's purity and freedom from every flaw, and 'wa bihamdihi' expresses gratitude and praise to Him.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that whoever says 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi' a hundred times a day will have their sins forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea (Sahih al-Bukhari, 6405). Another hadith says the words most beloved to God are 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi' (Sahih Muslim, 2137).

A hadith in Jami at-Tirmidhi (3464) says a tree is planted in Paradise for whoever says 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi'. Citing another hadith in Tirmidhi (3388), the piece also mentions the virtue of saying it three times morning and evening.

The short remembrance can be said at any time of day, between tasks or after prayer, and expresses both the glorification and the praise of God together.
