Six more dengue deaths as a record 2,158 patients are admitted in a day

The DGHS reported six dengue deaths in 24 hours and a record 2,158 hospital admissions; this year's toll is 225 deaths and 73,694 admissions.

Six more people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, and a record 2,158 new patients were admitted to hospital in the same period, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release on Sunday.

That takes this year's dengue deaths to 225. Since January, 73,694 people have been treated in hospital for dengue.

Dhaka division had the most admissions in the past 24 hours with 864, followed by Chattogram with 345, Khulna 329, Barishal 227, Rajshahi 176, Mymensingh 132, Rangpur 73 and Sylhet 12.
