Onion wholesale prices in India nearly fourfold in a year; potato cheaper, tomato mixed
The average mandi price of onion reached Rs 3,736.61 a quintal on 15 September 2026 against Rs 946.60 a year earlier — up nearly 295% and 54% above mid-August — while potato at Rs 789.80 is 26% below last year and tomato at Rs 1,692.44 is 21% higher than a year ago but 12% off its 1 September peak.
