A Water Development Board sluice gate at the mouth of the Pagla river in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj, was shut again within an hour of opening, keeping 33,000 to 35,000 bighas of double-cropped land in Khirir beel under water and some 4,000 farmers unsure of their rabi crops.
