CropsGovernment to buy 850,000 tonnes of aman paddy and rice at Tk 35 and Tk 49 a kilo
Sunday's Food Planning and Monitoring Committee meeting set an aman procurement target of 300,000 tonnes of paddy, 500,000 tonnes of parboiled rice and 50,000 tonnes of atap rice. Paddy buying starts on 14 November, rice on 1 December, and growers of aromatic rice are to get extra incentives.
