A python has been rescued from an aman paddy field in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar. The Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation rescued the snake on Friday afternoon (28 November) in the Noagaon Fakirbari area of the upazila.

Farmers were harvesting ripe aman paddy in a field next to Noagaon Fakirbari when they suddenly saw a snake in the crop. Frightened, they stopped work. The Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation was then called, and its team came and rescued the snake unharmed.

Swapan Deb Sajal, director of the foundation, said the python was rescued unharmed from the paddy field and handed over to the local wildlife office. Officials there may release it in Lawachara National Park after observation, he said.
