The Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation has rescued a python from a paddy field in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar. The snake was recovered around 5pm on Wednesday, 26 August, from a field in the Bharaura Bagan Road area.

Workers harvesting Aus paddy there saw the snake and stopped work in fear. As word spread among local people, they informed the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation.

The foundation's director Swapan Deb Sajal and environmental activist Rajdeep Deb Deep rescued the python unharmed and later handed it to the Sreemangal Forest Range office.

Sreemangal Forest Range Officer Md Nazmul Islam said the snake would be released into the forest.
