In step with the National Tree Plantation Programme 2022, the Bangladesh Air Force has again taken up a tree-planting programme this year.

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan inaugurated the programme on 26 June by planting saplings on the Air Headquarters premises and in the lakeside area beside the Tejgaon runway.

The information was given in a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).

It said the Air Force is carrying out this year's tree-planting drive under the national campaign's theme, "Brikkhaprane prakriti-protibesh, agami projonmer teksoi Bangladesh" (nature and environment in the life of trees, a sustainable Bangladesh for the next generation).

The principal staff officers of Air Headquarters took part by planting saplings of various trees. Directors and senior officers of Air Headquarters were among those present.

Similar programmes have been taken up at the Air Force's bases and units. Under the programme, the Air Force will plant saplings of fruit, timber and medicinal trees.
