Rice-like plant growing wild on a Sundarbans char draws researchers

A highly salt-tolerant, rice-like plant has spread over about four kilometres of Dimer Char at the sea mouth; Bagerhat's agricultural extension office wants it studied, though it may be a wild cordgrass.
