Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has held a series of preparatory meetings with the Hajj offices of 78 countries ahead of the 2027 Hajj. The aim is to coordinate preparations, operating plans and services before pilgrims reach the kingdom and make them more effective.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the meetings reviewed progress at each stage of preparation and discussed keeping to the approved timetable, the processing of Hajj packages and contracts with licensed service providers. Pilgrims' housing, transport, catering and crowd management, awareness and guidance programmes, and the rules that apply to running the Hajj were also discussed.
The ministry said it is monitoring the preparations of Hajj offices in different countries continuously, identifying problems early and acting on them, with duties and deadlines set for every stage.
According to the ministry, preparations for the 2027 Hajj began in May, when preparation documents and operating schedules were sent to the countries' Hajj offices and the previous season was reviewed in detail.
Saudi authorities say early, coordinated planning is meant to give pilgrims a more orderly, smooth and comfortable experience, as part of the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030. The SPA said it is strengthening coordination between the countries' Hajj offices, service providers and the Saudi authorities. The report is from Our Islam.
