Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has held a meeting on improving the living standards of the country's salt farmers.

The meeting took place on 11 May at the Prime Minister's office in the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat, the Prime Minister's press wing said.

Those present included Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, the Prime Minister's finance and planning adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Finance Secretary Khairuzzaman Majumder, Industries Secretary Obaidur Rahman, Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary Abdur Rahim Khan and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Saiful Islam.

The meeting stressed ensuring fair prices for salt farmers' produce and also discussed various steps to improve their living standards.
