Experts have forecast that the next month of Ramadan will begin in April 2022. Traditionally, the holy month of Ramadan begins on the basis of moon sighting.

According to a Gulf News report, experts say the Ramadan moon is expected to appear around April 2022, and that Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated a month later, in May.

Ibrahim Al Jarban, an astronomer with the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences (AUASS), said that based on the moon's position, fasting is expected to begin on Saturday, 2 April next year.

He added that by calculation Eid ul-Fitr may be celebrated on Monday, 2 May 2022, though he noted that everything depends on the sighting of the moon.
