"O believers! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance. It may be that your Lord will wipe away your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow. On the hard day of the hereafter, Allah will not disgrace His Prophet and those who believe. The light of their good deeds will shine before them and on their right, and they will say:"

"Rabbana atmim lana nurana waghfir lana; innaka ala kulli shay'in qadir." Meaning: "Our Lord! Perfect our light for us and forgive us. Indeed, You have power over all things." (Surah At-Tahrim, verse 8)

In the Holy Quran, Allah has told believing Muslims to make sincere, final repentance. Those who repent in this way will be forgiven and rewarded with Paradise, and what lies before them and on their right will be lit by the light of their good deeds.

To receive these blessings in the hereafter, there is no alternative to reciting this prayer often and acting on it properly. That is why Allah, alongside His promise and the way to attain it, has set out this prayer in the Quran.

Repentance brings forgiveness and good. A person is freed from all the sins of their past life and can draw close to Allah.

However great a sinner a person may be, if he makes sincere repentance, Allah forgives him. But if a sin involves the rights of another person, forgiveness must be sought from that person.

May Allah grant the Muslim ummah the ability to make sincere repentance, to free themselves through it from all the sins of this world, and after repenting to turn to Allah with the prayer the Quran teaches and receive the light of guidance. Amen.
