Trees vanish by night from Charghat's "mini Sundarbans", at least 5,000 in two years
A gang with chainsaws is felling riverbank plantation trees at the Padma-Baral confluence and government trees along village roads in Charghat, Rajshahi. Environmental groups count at least 5,000 felled in two years; 25 of the upazila's 38 sawmills are unlicensed.
