Mahindra Tractors has launched two tractors in Rajasthan, India, the 475 DI MS XP Plus and the 575 DI XP Plus, fitted with Smart LIFT, a hydraulic system that keeps an implement at the working depth the driver has set, Global Agriculture reports.

The system is aimed at everyday problems in fieldwork: implements riding up or digging in, constant adjustments of the hydraulic lever, manoeuvring at headland turns and driver fatigue. By holding the selected depth automatically, Mahindra says, it gives more even seedbed preparation and field finishing.

Fewer repeated hydraulic adjustments should make the work less tiring and more efficient, and more consistent fieldwork may save time and fuel, though the company says that depends on operating conditions and the implement used.

Both models also have a heavy-duty transmission case meant to stand up to heavy loads and reduce wear in continuous hard work. The launch extends Smart LIFT to farmers in Rajasthan who want more control over implement depth.
