Every day Prothom Alo's photographers and correspondents capture moments from across Bangladesh in its 'Glimpse' series. The farm, river, market and nature pictures from 7 October are described here; the original photographs are on Prothom Alo's page.
The fields are busy. At Thakur Ranitala in Dumuria, Khulna, women dry boro (IRRI) paddy in the sun, turning it with their feet every few minutes (photo: Saddam Hossain). At Ishwarpur in Rangpur, early potato planting has begun (photo: Mainul Islam). At Hatra in Kesharhat municipality, Rajshahi, paddy is being cut by combine harvester, which farmers are using more because it costs less (photo: Shahidul Islam).
In the same Kesharhat area, beekeepers set hives in an orchard to collect honey (photo: Shahidul Islam). At Rangapani in Rangamati, two children hurry to school along a paddy-field ridge on a dewy morning (photo: Supriyo Chakma).
There are river and wetland pictures too. With a 22-day ban to protect mother hilsa starting at midnight on Wednesday, fishermen at Boro Station fish landing in Chandpur are rolling up their nets (photo: Alam Palash). At Mendibag in Sylhet, fishermen beach their boats on the Surma after a catch (photo: Anis Mahmud), and at Monthana in Rangpur a fisherman checks his net before wading into a beel (photo: Mainul Islam).
At Arangghata in Khulna, a red dragonfly has landed on a blade of grass (photo: Saddam Hossain). At Chhaingya in Bandarban, a man heads home by boat after the weekly market (photo: Mong Hai Sing Marma). At Lahiripara in Faridpur, low-income people queue from dawn outside an OMS outlet for cheap rice and flour (photo: Alimuzzaman).
The photographs were taken by Prothom Alo's photographers and correspondents.
